Coach

When do you find those moments of clarity or inspiration? Those times when you're struck by insight or an answer to a question you've been struggling with?In our busy lives, these moments are rare and, typically, enforced by a routine activity like driving to work or washing the dishes. So often, we're then swept away onto the next task on our list and the clarity is lost or forgotten. How would it feel to slow down and let those thoughts not just emerge, but to become fully formed, meaningful insights? Journaling and reflection is a positive start but as humans we make sense of our lives through telling our stories. Something different happens when you have someone's full, undivided attention.I'm James. My coaching makes space for the answers you didn't know you held.

Who

I'm James. I’m a coach and someone who has spent a lot of time thinking about what it means to understand yourself and your place in the world.I work best one-to-one, in conversations that have room to go somewhere. I'm a quiet presence and more interested in your thinking than in filling the silence. I take the work seriously, but that doesn’t mean our conversations must be serious!I came to coaching through my own experience of sitting with hard questions, and through years of supporting people through change in my professional life. I don't think that gives me answers to your questions. But it does mean I understand something about what it takes to stay with uncertainty without rushing to resolve it.I'm a member of the Association for Coaching, working toward accreditation.

What

This is for people who already think carefully about their lives but find that thinking alone only goes so far.You might have a question that keeps returning without quite resolving. A sense that something has shifted, or needs to. An experience you're still trying to make sense of. In my experience, you’re probably not looking for advice or answers. What you're looking for is the right conditions to think more clearly, and to find your own.If that sounds like you, let's have a conversation.

How

Every conversation is different, because every person is. I don't work from a fixed programme or a standard set of tools. What happens in a session follows what you bring to it.Most people work with me over several sessions, giving the thinking room to develop between conversations as well as within them. Some find that a handful of sessions is enough. Others find ongoing, regular coaching useful — a consistent space to return to as life continues to move.Sessions take place by video call or phone — whichever you prefer. If you're based in a location that works for both of us, meeting in person is also possible; we can talk about that in the discovery call.I've chosen tools that are privacy-focused and European-hosted. You won't need to install anything or create an account. If you have any accessibility requirements, please let me know and we'll find an approach that works. The first step is a discovery call. An hour, free of charge, with no obligation. It's a chance to talk about what brings you to coaching and to get a sense of whether working together feels right.

Book a call

I offer one-to-one coaching for adults.I’m currently working towards accreditation. While I do this, I am offering sessions at a nominal fee of £10 per session.Book a free one-hour slot for a discovery call with me.You can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. I offer an hour because I know these conversations can take time. It's an unhurried first step to see whether coaching with me feels right for you. There is no obligation to continue working with me after the call.To help us both start the conversation with some clarity, please take a moment to answer a few questions. Share what's comfortable. It's just the place for us to start.
