Who

I'm James, a coaching professional based in the UK.I'm a husband and father, with lived experience of neurodivergence and gender identity. I believe in creating a safe coaching space where you can be your true self and, if you choose, to develop your understanding of what that might mean for you.Over the last 15 years, I've led and supported teams at the University of Bath navigating growth, change, and complexity together. Both personally and professionally, I know how it feels to sit with uncertainty, looking for direction or a clear sense of purpose. What I've learnt is that the answers are within us but we rarely find them alone. Our lives are filled with the stories created with others that build our sense of identity. Telling our stories to someone who is focused completely on you often leads to insight, clarity and a greater sense of meaning. As a coach, I create calm when you're overwhelmed and give you time when you feel stuck. I can guide when you need to explore, and be a partner to help you find your way forward.

What

Life is filled with moments of uncertainty, change and dilemma. When you're facing questions, large or small, if they feel significant I can help. You might be recently diagnosed, or self-diagnosed, neurodivergent and trying to understand how it fits with who you are. You might have reached a life stage where you feel you need a new sense of purpose. You might be navigating loss. You might not know what you're feeling, but know that something isn't right, or perhaps something is missing.I can help.Coaching is often goal-driven and outcome focused, but it can also be a dialogue to explore an area of uncertainty. In my experience, aims that emerge through conversation can be the most meaningful. If you already have a clear goal in mind, let's talk about what that looks like. If not, don't let that hold you back from a transformative conversation!

How

I don't pretend to have a standard set of tools that will work for everyone (no-one actually has that!).We're human, we're unique and, together, we'll discover what works for you.The first step is a free 'discovery' call to get to know one another. This gives you time to decide if you'd like to work with me. If you're comfortable, you can tell me about what brings you to coaching and we can start to shape what a coaching partnership might look like.Video calls are the most common approach for coaching conversations, but a simple phone call can be just as effective. Depending on your location, meeting in person may also be possible. In our initial conversation, we can talk about what works for you and any accessibility requirements you might have.As a member of the Association for Coaching, I adhere to the Global Code of Ethics. I believe that operating ethically means taking care of the details. The digital tools I use are privacy-focused and environmentally responsible. You won't need to install anything or create accounts.Respecting your privacy is my priority. From your first enquiry to our actual calls, I’ve selected European-hosted, privacy-first tools to ensure your information is always handled with the highest level of security and no third-party tracking. This means that any information you share is protected by strict European privacy laws.My website only uses essential cookies.

Book a call

I offer one-to-one coaching for adults.I’m currently working towards accreditation. While I do this, I am offering sessions at a nominal fee of £10 per session.Book a free one-hour slot for a discovery call with me.You can share as much or as little as you're comfortable with. I offer an hour because I know these conversations can take time.
